Description

A Collector / Reverse Art Truck driver is a front-line representative of Reverse Art Truck ensuring our donators feel appreciated and have their donations collected regularly.

Our drivers collect resources from businesses, following pre-set routes in different regions of Melbourne; entering a range of factories, workshops, yards and warehouses to retrieve offcuts, scrap and factory seconds, of wood, plastics, cloth and cardboard from our designated collection points as well as one-off arrangements.

Drivers use a hand trolley to bring these valuable resources back to the truck and then a truck tail-lift and careful packing and strapping, before transporting them back to our Ringwood and Narre Warren stores. Drivers negotiate busy roads, yards and loading docks with our small truck, taking great care and abiding by the relevant safety protocols of each location.

On returning to the store, drivers unload and store the collections into the store-shed.

About us

Reverse Art Truck is an iconic Melbourne grass roots organisation whose purpose is the reuse of materials that would have otherwise gone into landfill – making them available for the greater community, art educators, artists and crafters of all types.

For many years we have enjoyed the support of the Maroondah and Casey City Councils and the many industries who donate their offcuts to us for redistribution.

Reverse Art Truck has become so popular that it now provides materials to thousands of members of the community. Our sole aim is to provide our members with a large variety of affordable resource materials and to provide creative experiences that inspire creative thinkers of all types.
